Streamside also is host to the Orvis Michigan Fly Fishing School offering more than twenty, two-day Orvis fly fishing schools at the beautiful Homestead Resort and on the nearby Boardman River.

That’s right, the same great Orvis Fly Fishing School curriculum offered in Manchester, Vermont is now available in the heart of Michigan’s northern beauty. Orvis Michigan students learn the details about fly tackle, aquatic entomology, fly selection, knots, and the industry's best fly casting instruction. You'll spend your first day at Orvis' formal classroom in The Homestead's spectacular Stoneybrook Lodge, and use it's casting field, and fully stocked trout pond. The second day of instruction will begin in our Traverse City classroom. After lunch, you'll spend the rest of the day in the beautiful Boardman River just south of town. As an Orvis Michigan Fly Fishing School student, all tackle, lunches, course materials and licenses are provided. All need to do is dress for the weather and bring some excitement. We'll provide the rest!
